Potter Payper: Back & Better

Potter Payper

Essex rapper Potter Paper has returned. One of the most lyrical and realist artists in UK rap. After serving over 3 years behind bars, Potter Payper was still receiving recognition for his mixtapes Training Day, Training Day 2, Regina Vs Jamel Bousbaa and his jail house freestyles.

Potter had written to his fans while behind bars. Stating “I am sorry that I find myself back in prison. You my fans and supporters have kept me free for the last three years by giving me the chance to see something other than the struggle self-loathing and social insecurities of my community! Music has given me the chance to one day NEVER have to sit behind a door like this again but sadly, for some reason it just wasn’t my time.

The letter then went on to address how Potter would come back bigger and better than ever with his music and visuals and that’s exactly what he has done. On his first day out, Potter has blessed his fans with a 2020 freestyle, shortly followed by his EP 2020 Vision.

Potter sticks to his roots with his ambient style, slow, clean cut rap on his 2020 Vision Freestyle, with punchlines at every other bar, keeping listeners intrigued while breaking down his lyrics. Its impressive that Potter returned after such a long time and entered the scene with a running start, where many artists may have fumbled over the expectations their fans had set for them, but Potter exceeded them.

Potter is now able to prioritize recording and his music and is in tune with his work flow, already back in the studio creating future hits. Potter has more sustainability in his music career now that he has left his past behind him, opening a lot more doors for the artist. We’re thrilled to hear what Potter has hidden away as we expect big things from an artist with so much potential.
