SL, one of the youngest artists in the scene at just 18 years old, from Peckham, London, prominent for wearing a balaclava has respectfully pledged to donate a minimum of £100,000 for charitable causes which will empower the youth of today across all backgrounds. This movement will begin within his local community in London, and branch out internationally to countries in Africa, stemming back to his roots and his grandparent’s community in Nigeria. This is a very deferential move many other artists could follow or learn from. SL is becoming more of an idol and inspiration at such a young age.
SL is already well educated about his roots, and has captured some striking visuals in Nigeria with his Mad About Africa freestyle published on MixtapeMadness. The visuals that SL introduces captured by Teeeezy C can only be matched by some of the best artists and videographers in the UK, and he has been consistently doing this since 16/17 years old. His Mad About Africa freestyle switches up on the beat completely and comes in two parts, both with a soothing, melodic, island sound produced by Veysigz.
SL may not release as systematically as other artist, but one things for sure is that SL never misses once he does, each time coming with harder bars and more capturing visuals. He is also working with more and more people as his career goes on, appearing on the remix of Gangsta with Darkoo and Tion Wayne, to working with some of the best producers in the game like Kennybeats.
At such a young age with countless feats already and only aiming for more, SL is amongst the youth with extraordinary potential, distributing his talent through his music and storytelling, and even creative directing with scenes brought to us in Everything Good Is Bad, his EP which was released earlier last year 2019 in April. We expect great things from SL and if you haven’t heard him already, you undoubtedly will over time.
