Visuals To Remember

Visuals have become a lot more immersive over the years, and with better technology and a rise in creativity comes unique, almost movie like scenes that artists can use to go hand in hand with their lyrics. Here are some iconic visuals we’ve picked over recent years.

MIST - Savage

Showcasing a gritty music video through the use of Quadbikes, Motorbikes and old school cars ranging from classics such as Nissan S14’s, BMW 5 series, Nissan R34 GTST etc. MIST comes with a whole new approach to his usual awe inspiring visuals of wide landscape shots of his surrounding environment, whether that be Iceland or out at sea. This raw high speed video is gripping throughout, incorporating drifts, wheelies and everything else you would expect from MIST and Ed Hubert plus Charlie Jenkins , the cinematographers involved. The intricate scenes that have been captured in this video are considered dangerous which adds a whole lot more excitement to the feel of the video. There are shots of MIST captured while he is being carried on the front bonnet of one of the cars in the video, but he still makes it look like light work.

MEEKZ - LIKE ME

MEEKZ comes with a whole new distinctive video for LIKE ME, incorporating all of his outfits for his other well-known music videos, something that has not been done by any artist in the UK. The visuals have all personas of MEEKZ sitting around a large round table, which originally stemmed from Knights being able to all sit together at a table, which could be what MEEKZ was symbolizing in this video. What makes this more unique is that with his wordplay and verses, MEEKZ would switch persona on a bar which related to the tune that persona was rapping in, which takes the whole outtake on the visuals to a whole new level. Each version of MEEKZ also bringing a prop to the table, whether that be money, cereal, bottles or food. The visuals compliment MEEKZ's bars almost word for word, and after only being in the game for just over a year, many artists could take inspiration from him with these visuals as he has done something never seen before.

Nines - Pride

Luxury Living. Nines has given us an insight to a glimpse of his life in his video for Pride. Directed by Nines and Oliver Jennins with shots across Dubai, Nines brings out a full range of luxury cars, mansions and beauty, flexing his riches in an all-out boasting video. Many artists want to broadcast their wealth through their music, but very little can do it like Nines. This may not be his most creative video, but it most definitely may be his most slick and clean in terms of visuals. Each seamless transition guides you through each verse on the track, almost making you forget you’re watching a music video and not a movie. The video is brought to an end with the iconic drone shot of Nines playing Tennis on top of a skyscraper in Dubai, with his name and album cover icon printed on the court.

Dave Location

Good spirits, good vibes, good energy. Dave comes with an iconic summer tune, showing a journey throughout the video. Initially starting with Dave and his boys landing in Ibiza and documenting the trip while recording, real emotion and expression can be seen and felt. This entwines with the summer vibe that Dave is reaching for and authenticating his true emotion of happiness and relief. The visuals for Location can bring a smile to anyone’s face, and features countless artists from Stormzy, Fredo, Jorja Smith, Unknown T, Aitch and even footballers like Sancho and Raheem Sterling.

AJ Tracey – Ladbroke Grove

West London artist AJ Tracey brought us visuals all the way from Marrakech with this one, bringing Ladbroke grove to Morroco with stunning drone shots of Marrakech and the desert and humbling scenes of AJ playing football with the youth over there. AJ and his boys are enjoying the scenes while shooting, with quadbike rides over sun kissed dunes, kicking back smoking shisha by the pool and taking long camel rides. The scene and location threw many people off guard, as AJ is notorious around Ladbroke Grove, and considering what the track was entitled, we expected to see classic scenes in and around the West London area.
